What does AFPF stand for ?

Association Française pour la Production Fourragère (French society for forage production)

The AFPF was created in 1959 (under the French law of 1901 governing associations) with the following aims and means :

  •   To be a place for interchange and contacts thanks to the organization of professional meetings where information can be shared among the various specialists and practising people from French and foreign groups dealing with grassland, forage production and the environmental questions linked to them
    1. by means of : the organization of Professional Meetings
  •   In order to stimulate interchange among those involved in pastures and forages
    1. by means also of : the 'Feuille de l'AFPF'
  •   In order to make widely available the scientific information from the journal 'FOURRAGES' which gathers, makes useful, and synthetizes all this information on forages
    1. the medium utilized is : the journal 'FOURRAGES' which it publishes

    The AFPF is open to everybody !

    Be they workers in the field of research or experimentation or that of development, be they teachers, technicians, tradespeople, farmers, or students, etc., all gather there in perfect equality.

    The balance among the various groups is ensured in all the events organized by the AFPF, as well as in its own Board of Direction, which is constituted by 5 bodies, viz. :

    1. Public organizations
    2. fourragère Other organizations dealing with forage production
    3. interprofessionnels Suppliers and inter-professional organizations
    4. Individual members (farmers, research workers, teachers, technicians)
    5. Regional associations interested in forages and pastoralism
